Lunch and drinks will be provided for the 5th graders. Please bring food and drinks for yourself and any other family members. If your 5th grade child has a special diet, please bring their lunch. Feel free to bring picnic blankets and chairs for your comfort. You may also set up canopies or umbrellas.

Last day of school. Report cards will go home this day.
I am sending home updated grade reports today. These grades now reflect our social studies test from last week. Please review these grades and check for any missing assignments.
Students have two projects that are due this week:
Late projects will receive reduced credit; no projects will be accepted after Monday, May 20. Please email or call if you have any questions.
Peters Student Council recently took a field trip to the Union Collegiate Academy, where they got to tour the campus, perform science experiments, view a mock television broadcast, meet with the high school Student Council, and eat lunch at the deli. Students also got to play on the football field and shop at the U-Wear store. It was a fun and educational day! Check out the video below:
Our class is in need of newspapers and masking tape for an end of the year math project. Any donations are appreciated!
The end of the year is approaching and so is the 5th grade awards assembly and picnic on May 23. During the last few weeks of school, students sometimes forget that the same rules apply in May as they do in August. Please remind your child to focus on his or her school work and not get distracted by the excitement of this time of year.
In order to remind students that good behavior and turning in school work are still important, 5th grade teachers have decided to implement a new policy in May. Students will need to be respectful, responsible, and safe, or they will lose time off of their 5th grade picnic on May 23. For each negative mark that a student gets, he or she will lose five minutes of their play time. After students have missed their appropriate number of minutes, then they may go out to play for the remainder of the day (a teacher will stay with them and walk them to the park).
Thanks for reminding your child that we still have work to do in order to make sure that they are ready for 6th grade. Let’s end our 5th grade year on a positive note!
